Big Boy Burger Battle Ignites in Ohio!
Sanjana B | March 13, 2025

A legal clash between burger chains is brewing in Ohio. Frisch’s Big Boy, which owns the Big Boy brand in certain regions, sued Michigan-based Big Boy Restaurant Group (BBRG) for allegedly trying to open locations in its territory.

A judge temporarily blocked BBRG from using the Big Boy name. In response, BBRG rebranded its new restaurants as Dolly’s Burgers and Shakes. The dispute stems from a long-standing trademark agreement dividing Big Boy’s territories.

Frisch’s, facing financial struggles, recently lost dozens of locations. BBRG insists it will defend its brand while forging ahead with Dolly’s. The legal fight continues.
