Starbucks Cuts Menu 30%, Unleashes Smart Tech
Sanjana B | January 31, 2025
Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol revealed plans to streamline operations, following four consecutive quarters of declining sales. The company will reduce its menu by 30% by year-end and pilot a new prioritization algorithm to boost barista efficiency.
These changes aim to improve operations during peak hours, reduce in-store chaos, and enhance customer experience. The algorithm will help manage mobile orders, allowing for a smoother flow of café orders.
Starbucks also plans to introduce order scheduling via its app, improve pricing transparency, and test new seating arrangements. Despite menu cuts, the company remains committed to food and beverage innovation.
