Wendy’s Boosts Tech to Speed Up Orders & Growth

Wendy’s is ramping up digital and AI investments to boost efficiency and support growth. In 2023, they spent $53 million on tech like AI ordering, kiosks, and app upgrades. For 2025, they plan to double that to $100-$110 million, focusing on expanding tech and global reach.


Key to this effort is Wendy’s FreshAI, an AI-powered drive-thru system developed with Google Cloud, designed to automate orders and reduce labor strain. The pilot has improved order accuracy and increased sales. Alongside AI, Wendy’s is enhancing its mobile app, loyalty program, and in-store tech to drive growth and customer engagement.
